Festival of San Vittorio, Santa Teresa and Sant’Isidoro

Founding of the village

12th August

Historical re-enactments, guided tours, shows and traditional dances are the background to the celebrations in memory of the foundation of the village on 12th August 1808 with decree of Vittorio Emanuele I. These gave to the village the recent name of Santa Teresa in honour of his wife Maria Theresa of Austria-Este .

Sea procession in honour of St Mary of the Assumption

15th August

The statue of St Mary of the Assumption heads the procession of decorated boats out of the fjord of Lungosanto while hundreds of people wait along the shores of the harbour. Then the procession rounds Punta Becchi and arrives to the beach of Rena Bianca where a crown of flowers is thrown into the sea.
